Along with the 2.0-liter turbocharged version of the Sonata, the company Hyundai, at the motor show in New York, should be submitted and hybrid (Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Blue Drive) version of this model.The system is expected HBD may be 2.4-liter version of the engine power 198 hp connected to a hybrid system that uses a polymer lithium ion batteries, LG Chem, with air cooling, which is not
typical of existing and emerging hybrids.
According to the company: "Lithium-ion batteries used in most hybrid systems, using liquid electrolyte as a medium transmission. And if the cells overheat, the electrolyte may be ejected, which ultimately lead to fire, because there are already cases with laptops. New batteries use a gel, which is more resistant to splashing and fire, as compared with the liquid.
Probably, Hyundai intends to use the engine at 30 kW, which will connect with a six-speed gearbox.
