Reasons for Infiniti in the decision was made not to create a new generation of Q45, are, as they say, on the surface. First, today's model range sedan is Infiniti M56, which in the U.S. with 420-horsepower 5.6-liter and rear-wheel drive is
priced at $ 57.550, but with wheel-drive system - $ 60.050. If today's product line appeared Sedan Q45, then its value in the basic version would be higher than $ 60 thousand, and at the automaker would have had problems with the implementation of the model. In an interview with Automotive News, a senior Infiniti Toru Saito admitted that sales of Q45 in the North American market has always left much to be desired.
The second reason that in the Infiniti refused to resume production of Q45, is the fact that the M56 sedan new generation has almost the same dimensions as the old Q45. In addition, the company now focuses on the development of compact, economical and environmentally friendly cars. At the recent auto show in Geneva, the Japanese introduced a hybrid version of the M35 Hybrid sedan with a 3.5-liter gasoline V6 engine and 68-horsepower electric motor, receiving energy from a set of lithium-ion batteries. The company hopes that the share of hybrid sedans, which will be available on the market in the Old World in the next year, will be at least 33% of the total sales of Infiniti M.
