Schumacher became the most popular driver in Formula-1

Schumacher.jpg    Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher became the most popular active driver in Formula 1, reports Autosport. For the pilot Mercedes voted 19.5 per cent of fans who participated in the survey, launched in early February with support from LG Electronics.

   For Schumacher voted twice more participants than for Fernando Alonso - the Spaniard supported by 9,7 per cent of fans. In third place, with 7.2 per cent, was Kimi Raikonen,
who left the championship after the end of last season. The fourth and fifth place was taken by Lewis Hamilton and Robert Kubica.



  Among the most popular teams has traditionally been an Italian stable Ferrari - it supports more than 30 percent of fans. Scuderia confident ahead of team McLaren (19,1 percent) and Brawn / Mercedes (10,01 percent).

  The most popular phase of the Formula-1 recognized the Monaco Grand Prix - voted for him 52 percent of respondents. Next come the Grand Prix of Italy (50.6 percent), Britain (42.9 percent) and Germany (28.8 percent). At the same time it may be noted that most of the fans of Formula-1 reside in these three countries.

  The survey was conducted with the participation of associations Formula-1 (FOTA) and administration of the World Championship (FOM), and within weeks was attended by more than 90 thousand people from 180 countries. The voting was conducted on a very wide range of issues, and should help management to decide the championship with the direction of future changes in the championship.

  So, fans were asked whether they support the latest innovations in Formula 1, and what changes are needed championship in the future. As it turned out, the majority of voters (44.9 percent) have a positive attitude to change the points system. Thus 61.9 percent of fans believe that the difference in the glasses between the first and second place should be great. Many also supported the translation of TV coverage of the championship in the format HD (65,7 percent), and organization live in the Internet (52.4 percent).
